This page explains the Scaling IMPALA Fund: what it pays for, which hospitals are eligible, and how the GOAL 3 Foundation decides where the money goes.
</aside>
The Scaling IMPALA Fund is the GOAL 3 Foundation’s pooled funding mechanism for expanding access to IMPALA in hospitals where the need and expected impact are high, but local budgets cannot cover the full investment.
Rather than restricting each donation to a predetermined hospital or country, donations are pooled and allocated across eligible implementation opportunities. This allows the Foundation to direct funding based on the latest available evidence, expected impact per dollar, additionality, implementation readiness and opportunities to leverage wider health-system improvements.
Funding can cover the components required to establish and sustain IMPALA, including monitoring equipment, digital infrastructure, installation, training, clinical integration, implementation support and service costs.
The underlying principle is: Use flexible philanthropic capital where it can unlock the greatest additional and sustainable health impact.
