Why we share this openly

GOAL 3 is a Dutch social enterprise working with hospitals in sub-Saharan Africa, where our IMPALA digital health system helps health workers monitor critically ill children and newborns and act on deterioration earlier. We believe that anyone deciding whether to fund, buy, implement or study IMPALA should be able to check our work for themselves.

This hub is where we make that possible. It brings together our evidence, including results that are uncertain or not statistically significant; how our model works and what IMPALA costs; how we are governed; and the risks and limitations we see. Where evidence is limited, we say so, and where a figure is modelled or an internal calculation rather than observed, we aim to label it.

We keep this as one maintained source instead of scattered documents and slide decks, so that funders, partners, researchers and external reviewers work from the same information we use ourselves.

How to use this Knowledge Hub

Start with the question you have:

Reading our evidence

The Evidence Summary Dashboard breaks IMPALA's impact into separate claims (C1–C13), from technical reliability to mortality and cost-effectiveness. Each claim has an evidence grade, a synthesis, its sources and links to related claims. Most outcome studies so far were conducted or co-authored by GOAL 3, and none is randomised yet; the dashboard notes this where it matters.
